Short Review: Hard to believe in more ways than one.
So, this issue Jeff Smith presumably tries to fight back against those of us, myself included, who claim that Bone has being doing nothing slowly for the last while. So, this issue, we get the big secret. It turns out to be the standard secret for orphaned girls in remote valleys in a fantasy setting (yes, that one). It's certainly a surprise, as it's the first blatant cliche in what was previously a strikingly original series. All the same, it does motivate the story, and immediately afterwards, we see a mobilisation of the enemy forces, and a hope that the story will pick up pace soon. I still can't believe he did that, though.
